The Charlotte Caffey Surfing and Spying Page started back in the summer of 1999. Since then, it has come full circle and the best thing about doing this page has been the fact that it has made it easy for me to meet great fans from all around the world. It has now become more of a labor of love especially since Charlotte herself does know about this site. For those just checking out the webpage for the first time, this is a page devoted to one of the most respected and underrated artists in rock and roll, the one and only Charlotte Caffey. She is a great musician and one of the most talented songwriters of our time. She is mainly known for being one of the main songwriters as well as the lead guitarist and keyboard player for the biggest all-female rock bands of all time, The Go-Go's but in the 90's and today, she has worked with many of today's artists as a producer, songwriter and back-up singer and now as the co-founder of her own record label, Five Foot Two Records.

My admiration for Charlotte started back in late 1981 when I saw The Go-Go's play for the first time at the Palladium in New York City. That night, I saw a very talented musician and player who totally kicked butt on the guitar. I have been one of the biggest Go-Go fans ever since. Charlotte helped me to become a better guitar player myself because she was the first woman lead guitarist that I ever saw live.

On July 12, 2001, a twenty year wait came to an end when I finally met Charlotte for the first time when the Go-Go's did an autograph session after a Brewers Baseball game at Miller Park in Milwaukee. The meeting itself only lasted three minutes but I will never forget how friendly she was. On March 6, 2002, however, I had the chance to meet her again after the Go-Go's played a show at the Vic Theater here in Chicago. A fan was nice enough to give me an extra backstage pass so I can partake in an after concert get together upstairs with them. It would turn out to be the best night of my life. When I met her again, she signed my playlist, which one of the roadies gave me when he saw that I was the "Super-Charlotte" fan and agreed to take a picture with me that my friend Greg took. It was the greatest moment of my life!!! I will never forget how gracious, cool and nice she, Kathy, Gina and Jane were to me that night. I would like to thank Charlotte once again.

There is definitely a need for a page such as this one. I would hope that this page will be one that all fans and music lovers can check out from time to time to see what a great talented person Charlotte Caffey really is.
